True change comes when one aims for what they truly desire. Katia Minniti Berard is a woman who has never been afraid of change or pursuing what she believed in and wanted. However, 2023 has been a significant year for her as she has strengthened and empowered her Coromandel with new ideas and projects.
Coromandel is a well-known Roman establishment opened in 2012, just steps away from Piazza Navona. It originated from Katia’s idea and tenacity, aiming to materialize a dream: recreating the magic of hotel breakfasts and offering the best brunch in Rome. To achieve this, she envisioned the space with vintage and refined decoration, like a home – a place to eat but also where one could be with family and friends, relax, and feel good. Given the success of the gastronomic offerings over the years, CASA COROMANDEL has expanded with new spaces where one can purchase unique, refined, and tasty products in the perfect Coromandel style. It’s also a place for having an aperitif or dinner according to the desires of those who want to have the space all to themselves.
The Kitchen
Coromandel has put good cuisine in the spotlight, featuring fresh and selected products and dishes that satisfy every palate, all rigorously handmade. Breakfast is a unique moment to recharge energy, and the brunch, available every day, is the real deal with pancakes, eggs, croque madame, and croque monsieur. Among the food-related novelties, there will be monthly dinners (link to the calendar) with a limited number of seats, where Coromandel will host a chef delighting guests with cuisine from nearby and faraway places (the evening dedicated to the city of Rome sold out within a few days). And it doesn’t end there because in the evening, the venue can be available if you want to organize an event, a birthday (the pastry chef can prepare any type of cake, even to take away for a special occasion), or a dinner with friends where the only thing to think about is having fun.
The Shop
Since December, Casa Coromandel has become a concept store, a pop-up reality, selling furniture, clothing, pieces, and rarities with vintage design, beautiful and original items, delicacies to buy, and fabrics that will captivate you because beauty satisfies us like good food. A dedicated place to stop and discover small artisans from various fields, found by Katia, a space for shopping in constant dialogue with a passion for design, art, and a nearly maniacal and manneristic search for detail.
Coromandel is the result of teamwork and elective affinities that share the idea of hospitality and beauty envisioned by Katia, who leads the establishment with sagacity and grace.

Nasce dall’idea e dalla tenacia di una donna forte, Katia, che ha voluto concretizzare un sogno fatto di impegno e sacrificio. Katia voleva ricreare la magia della colazione degli hotel, quella che ti fa dire WOW ma voleva anche essere un modo per sentirsi turisti nella propria città.
Il locale, dalla decorazione vintage e raffinata, è stato pensato come una CASA. La casa è da sempre il grande palcoscenico della nostra vita, il luogo che riesce a far esprimere la nostra parte più intima e vera: non è semplicemente un posto in cui mangiare ma il luogo in cui si sta con la famiglia e gli amici, dove ci si rilassa, fatta sì di oggetti ma soprattutto di persone e di sensazioni che questo luogo, se curato nel modo giusto, saprà trasmettere mentre lo viviamo.
Per questo CASA COROMANDEL si è allargata con nuovi spazi dove poter acquistare prodotti unici, raffinati e gustosi in perfetto stile Coromandel ma anche dove poter fare un aperitivo o una cena secondo i vostri desideri.
